Resources

Please be aware that finding a quality Boston Terrier puppy is not always easy. Boston litters tend to be small and normally require c-sections. Many Boston breeders have only one or two litters a year, sometimes none; many have waiting lists for puppies. Once you find a reputable breeder it is a good idea to plan ahead and have your name added to a few waiting lists.

Beware of people that always have puppies available, or sell red, blue, or white colors that are, in reality, disqualifying faults according to the Boston Terrier standard and often come with a host of health problems. Also, mis-marked Bostons with a predominately white head and excess white markings have been shown to be at risk for producing deaf offspring and should not be bred.

When looking for a Boston puppy it pays to do research and ask questions. Why do they breed? How often?  Does the puppy come with a contract? Are puppies placed with limited registration to prevent future indiscriminate breeding? Have the sire and dam been screened for cataracts and luxating patellas (slipped/shallow knees sockets)?
